A reader sent me this video.
At the end, my mouth was literally hanging open. Comb coils are amazing! I know, I know...my locs were started off with comb coils but I never actually saw the process. I just saw the end result. I think they are absolutely beautiful and I should have considered this as a look when I was a short fro-wearin' natural.
My decision to start my locs off with comb coils was not really MY decision. My locitcian took a look at my hair texture and figured that comb coils would be the best route for me. She was right because within a month, some of my comb coils were budding. A itchy mess, but budding nonetheless.
Comb coils is just another style that makes me love the things that natural hair can do. Yaaaaay!

I wore comb coils ALL the time before I locked my hair, I really liked it! I don't think my hair would loc well with the comb coil method, but as a style all its own I really enjoyed it. Ah, those were the days lol.
I always thought comb coils were neat, only nappy hair can do them. I never liked wearing them though, too many itches.

NESS---> I never saw anyone with comb coils when I was natural. Craziness! But Lawd...them thangs only last for a few days. 2 days in the Floridian humidity and they'll be droppin'.

Hehe B, you are right, as nice as the style is it only lasts for a week, MAYBE two. I only wore them for two weeks then got them washed out lol, and even when I tried to lock the coils they would just disappear entirely into an afro! Come to think of it I don't think I've ever seen anybody else wear comb coils either, except me.
