Red locs, hmmmm?

So I was playing around with my photo editing program and er uh....look!!

Of course now I want red locs. But I won't dye them again just yet. Although bringing in the New Year and my birthday (Jan 2nd) with red locs might be pretty awesome.

Maybe I'll do a rinse.

And maybe I should just rename this blog 'Memoirs of a Hair Color Addict' because I ca-learly can't leave the stuff alone. Ahhh!!!

I love your blog! I am new to locs (1 month!) but I have girlfriends who have been horrified by the look and feel of their locs from over dying. If you want to go red I suggest going the henna route b/c chemicals will fry them!

Be well.

OMG your b-day is the day before mine. I'm dying mine as well for my b-day but I'm using henna with indigo to get a midnight blue effect. Check this website out, it give a lot of info about the science behind henna and shows different mixes as well...

Ooh looks lovely on you! I'd echo the others who say consider henna -I have a friend who had gorgeous locs but after multiple dyes ended up having to cut them off from severe drying/build up issues. Good luck!

Mayn, y'all are scaring me. But this is what I need! I don't know what it is about color but I always want to switch it up. I will definitely be checking out henna this weekend.

Thank you, ladies!

I have to agree with the other ladies that you should check out henna if you want red and since you've already lightened your locs the red should be more vibrant. If you do decide to use henna make sre you use body art quality henna and if you do want to use a commercial dye just make conditioning your locs as routine as brushing your teeth. Good luck, you'd look great in red!

I just purchased some henna yesterday.I can not wait to use it. I bleached my hair almost 2 years ago and I have been using rinses to get the color I want which is cedar red brown, but I am tired of continually putting the rinse in so I am going to try henna just on my tips and see how it goes!!! You should try it 2...I have heard positive things about it!!
