Quick Hair Update

In a previous post, I said something like, "I'll be retwisting....". Uh...that never happened. I JUST retwisted after a good 6 weeks or so. The more these locs mature, the less I feel like retwisting them. Even washing 'em is a feat. It took me over an hour to wash them thoroughly.

Wow-sers.

Part of me wants to grow these locs as long as I can. And then another part of me wants to chop 'em off because...I don't know, I kinda dug the shorter locs. Even though I complained about them. Only time will tell...

ok... I apologize. Just looked at another one of your post and remembered what you wrote sayin pretty much each one has their own journey to go on with loc'ing. You are absolutely right. So your decision on your hair is your decision and my two cents i will take those back now...lol... but let me take this time to say THANK YOU for all you have shared with us about your journey via loc rocker, clumps of mascara etc. you're fun to watch and i have tried several of your techniques etc, and have gotten many compliments. so THANK YOU... rock on sista! :)

that is so true .As my locs get more mature the less i feel like retwisting. I wake up in the morning and looking in the mirror like ugh i need a retwist and end up not doing it.Im going 4 weeks without a real retwist o_O

Welcome to my world, my friend! Retwist?? What's that? The longer they get, the longer the grooming process. You know I keep mine either in an up-something Ebony creation or in some curl configuration. Its the only way to go :o)

Funny... I go thru the same thing...one minute I'm complaining its too short next minute I am saying its too long to style the way I want... all in all I love them. Your hair looks strong and healthy..

Either way...long or short...it's your journey, your story. But, they do look really great and I enjoy looking back at the pics of your babies as they grew.
Guess I'm at the stage where I am looking forward to rocking some length and curly styles.
Hey, as women we go thru phases, changes in life and it is reflected in how we wear our hair.
As you had posted, loving our hair in the now and not longing for someone else's head of hair is important.
B, Life is dynamic...Enjoy the next phase.

Your locs look so full and healthy!! I was the same way, yearning for the longer hair, then when I got it I wanted to cut it. It's just so much more work.

I still can't believe your locs have grown so friggin fast! Love it!

They are growing so nicely! Whatever you do, you will ROCK it! You've done some fabulous things with the shorter length, and I know that if you choose to grow them long, you will do some amazing things with them!

Lovely! I feel ya, it's such a chore for me to retwist. I hold off on washing as long as I can...about a month. I want to grow mine down my back, but I'm not sure how long I'm gonna be able to tolerate twisting those bad boys.
