I am a Locstar

So what's more fascinating? The fact that my curly locs have been hanging around for 2 weeks or the insane love I have for my new tattoo 'Mama Africa'?

I got that tattoo at this bad ass parlor in Harlem a few days ago on my birthday. Can you believe I had never been in a Black tattoo parlor before? My 3 previous tats had been done by rockstars who didn't really know me or didn't seem to care about my future tat. And I always had to ask "Do you tattoo Black skin and if so can I see pictures?"

Tragic.

NYC's winter weather is no bueno for my scalp. It is drier than ever! Living in Florida means I don't have "summer hair and skin regimes" and "winter hair and skin regimes". But I see why ladies in colder climates HAVE to have them. How do y'all do it? I'm going to enjoy my last months living in the South because getting used to the North's winter will not be easy.

Just a quick mobile update letting y'all know that I'm alive and will be updating soon! Is it possible to be jet lagged even though I stayed on the East Coast? HA!!

Stay tuned!

EDIT: I've spruced up the photo a bit. One of my Christmas gifts was Photoshop for my MacBook so I'm trying to force myself to get better PShop skills!

Aiiiyyt! Loving the tat! I've never been to a black studio either. All of mine were done by totally gifted rocker dude types, so perhaps this is an incentive for yet another tattoo!!

Staying tuned...

I thought this would be my last tattoo but I'm actually itching for one more. I've heard of a great spot with brown folx in the A!

You must be talking about City of Ink in ATL! If you are ever in DC, Shawnta and I go to Pinz N Needlez, ask for Imani :-)
